To pray and to trust

Once more God showed me His glory and the power of His hands. Within my heart a phrase of Jesus' resounded, one He very often reminded us of: «Ask and it will be given to you».

I did not believe in the power of healing, my lack of faith made me think that miracles could no longer occur, that Jesus had only healed the blind who came across his way, the paralytic who had asked him for help, those who were seriously ill and just by believing were cured.

In the Eucharist I repeated mechanically: "I am not worthy to have you come into my house, but one word of yours will be enough to heal me".

About four years before, some 'testes' had began appearing in my hands, which the doctors called vulgar warts. They continued reproducing, appearing in different places in my hands, and they tried different treatments, all very painful, but they had no result, they were getting worse. Esthetically they bothered me enough, but the pain bothered me even more.

At that time I lived far away from God, my faith had weakened almost completely, I tried everything they told me. I had even gone to see two quack doctors to see if they could cure them 'by word' as they said. But when I was able to discover the living God they announced to me at the first Easter retreat I attended in 1997, I understood that His love could embrace everything.

Halfway through that year, encouraged by the coordinator of my group, by a friend of mine at the time, who belonged to an Evangelical denomination, but moved above all by the Spirit of God, I began praying healing over each one of my 'testes'; every night I prayed insistently over each one of them, fully trusting that God would listen to my prayer.

To my surprise and that of many others, some time later the 'testes' started getting smaller until they disappeared completely. God had listened to my prayer. I could no longer have any doubts, God's power had manifested once more, Jesus had healed me too.
