25 years of service in the Church!
The Communitarian Process for Confirmation (CPC) is a pastoral, evangelizing and catechetic instrument, which tries to provoke an authentical and compromised option for faith, develop inner life, consolidate doctrinal formation and enable insertion of young and adult people into the ecclesial community, through the preparation for Confirmation or Christian Initiation sacraments.

It is a "communitarian" process because the faith experience and Christian formation take place within the ecclesial community —being catechesis their responsibility— and in a brotherly atmosphere which welcomes those being catechised, so that they may live what they have received, as fully as possible.

In this way, the community life of faith becomes the witness of the message that has been announced; the community itself reveals faith fruitfulness and what this can work in those who accept it. On the other hand, the Church also receives the richness of the ones that have been catechized, and it grows through them; that is why catechesis also results in maturity for the community. And it is catechesis "for confirmation" of faith. That means it perfects the baptismal grace, by giving the Holy Spirit to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, enrich us with a special strength, and strengthen our bond with the Church. In this way the Christian commits himself much more to bear witness for Christ and take faith to others with his witness (cf. LG 11; CCC 1285 and 1316). Those who enter CPC start a way which prepares them for Confirmation (or the initiation sacraments), but does not end then. It is an open way, which begins with catechesis, but continues beyond the celebration of sacraments, in the development of a life of faith. The celebration is the starting point because it seeks faith to be expressed in life; thus those who have been catechized may grow in their Christian life always, until their final encounter with the Lord. |

the CPC I did not have faith. The silence that surrounded me was not enough,
I knew that something was missing. I had never paid any attention to God,
I was surrounded only by books, but I had never been interested in the Gospel,
I had always disregarded such an important book. This book was not meant
for knowledge, but rather for my faith and the learning of my heart. Now
that I am about to receive Confirmation, my heart has faith and love to
give. Thanks to all my catechists!"

We are expecting all the young people over 14, and all adults, even those who are already confirmed, or have not received any of the initiation sacraments, so that they experience a live, moving, open-eyed and throbbing heart encounter with the Lord. |
CPC was born in 1982, as a fruit of the pastoral work of The
Movement of the Word of Godin Nuestra Señora de Loreto
Parish (Avellaneda diocese, Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina). At present
the Work lends this ecclesial service with an evangelizing and communitarian
methodology in 47 parishes in Argentina, as well as in Paraguay, Ecuador,
Perú and Uruguay. |
